DIY Seaglass Vases
Aren’t the color of these glasses absolutely beautiful? You could get them at Pottery Barn for a whopping $63.50 a piece, or you could DIY them for a fraction of the cost! Use this tutorial from Sand and Sisal to dye your old vases that perfect shade of seaglass blue. Fill with flowers, or wrap the vases in twine for more of a decorative touch.
Beach Pillows
Would you believe me if I told you that this totally adorable DIY pillow was made from an old pair of blue jeans? Well, guess what? It is! This adorable project from Remodelando la Casa is super easy, and it’s a great way to use all of those old jeans you have stacked up in your closet! Make more than one and use them around your porch, patio, or living room for a touch of beachy decor.
Home Decor Ideas
While this isn’t necessarily an item you can DIY, Simplicity in the South has coastal home decorating down to a science, and I recommend that every coastal decor lover visit her site. She has incredible ideas when it comes to combining coastal textures, colors, and even decorating for the holidays! I absolutely love how she used her gathered seashells as an accent piece in the photo below. The pop of color in the flowers is a beautiful touch as well.
Coastal DIY Sign
Pinterest is full of super cute ideas when it comes to your wall decor, and here is my favorite beachy DIY sign from Domestically Speaking. Use the seashells you’ve found on vacation to create this beautiful DIY sign. If you don’t like the burlap background, white cotton fabric would look just as great.
Beach Inspired Terrarium
Terrariums are all the rage in home decor! Instead of using live plants in your terrarium, fill yours with beach items like sand, sea glass, seashells, and even starfish. If you were just on vacation, you could make special “vacation themed” terrariums using the sand, seashells, and anything else you found on your beach vacation. You could have a themed terrarium for any beach you’ve ever visited! Check out the tutorial from Finding Home Farms.
DIY Wreath
Porch decor is a necessity when it comes to home decorating, and curb appeal. Unfortunately, it can be a bit difficult to translate your love of the coast to your porch! Lucky for you, My Pinterventures has an incredibly easy DIY for this beautiful wreath. The best part? This could be up all year long!
DIY Anchor Sign
Nothing screams coastal quite like a navy anchor, and this one can be placed anywhere in your home! Get the full tutorial from Place of My Taste. As always, feel free to experiment with the color! You could even paint a pattern!
Seashell Garland
Garlands are my favorite piece of decor, mostly because they look amazing strung across a mantle piece. This DIY project from Confessions of a Serial DIYer is super simple, and it’s another creative way to put all of those found seashells to use.
