Stay stocked up on all cleaning items! It’s important to keep a checklist full of all your cleaning supplies so it’s easy to keep tabs on what you need more of! There’s nothing worse than expecting company and realizing you’re out of cleaning products!
When cleaning your new home, start in high places like your ceiling fans! Don’t forget the areas above doors and window seals as well!
Take cleaning supplies with you, as they they should be packed away like anything else. In fact, it’s a great idea to have a cleaning caddy easily available (and fully stocked!) for whatever you find in your new home. Moving is stressful enough, it would be terrible to forget a roll of paper towels!
Stock up on paper towels (seriously, I wasn’t lying when I said how terrible it is to forget these babies.) You’ll never have enough! They’re great for bathroom sinks and toilet seats.
If there’s ever an item that you don’t go cheap on, its toilet paper.
Take a deep breath and freshen up your home with my favorite air freshener ever. I wonder if they sell “new home smell?”
After you’ve cleaned high and waist level, it’s a good idea to go low and wipe up everything you’ve tracked in from the move. Swiffer mops are the most convient way to clean up floor dirt without dragging out your mopping bucket!
After you’ve cleaned up high, don’t forget to clean up waist level areas like your windows and walls.
Tide Pods are a must have for doing laundry (and everyone knows that laundry is a never ending chore!) Wash your towels and rugs right when you move in to keep things looking fresh.
Wiping down your counters is a no-brainer, but your cabinets and drawers need a little bit of attention, too!
Washing your curtains (I seriously never even thought about washing these until just recently!) is a must-do when moving into a new home. You’d be amazed at all of the dirt and dust they accumulate over time!
