I practically live on Pinterest these days, and I’ve begun noticing the cutest trend popping up on group board after group board: finger knitting! Since it’s winter, and oh-so cold in my area (it does even get cold on the beach!) I thought that knitting sounded like a cozy hobby. I’ve never been super great working with needles, but I think I could work a little magic with my god-given ones? I’m dying to try all ten of these finger-knitting projects.
I’m not sure how absorbent this DIY bathmat would be..but I know that it’s adorable. I also know that it only took this blogger 2 hours to make herself! Wait till you see how soft her yarn looks!
Forget about your other three fingers! You only need two to craft these coasters! Use cotton sash cord (like this blogger did) for maximum amounts of absorbtion.
Okay, I cheated just a bit here…you will need a sewing machine to turn your finger-knit creation into a pillow. Or, you could just finger knit an entire blanket using this pattern (simply keep the rows going, but use the same knitting technique!)
A friend of mine is expecting her first baby in June, and I am so excited to make these for her baby shower gift! They look complex and difficult, but you can really make these with just your fingers! Pssst…check out those tiny tassles!
Easily create a family of octopi (?) out of yarn! Give these to a friend for their nursery, or make them for your kids! These are way cuter than anything store bought!
Warm up a cool chair with a cushion made with thick knitting yarn! This project is really cool because this blogger also used real sheep hair to fill her chair cushions with. I bet they were so warm!
You can keep your “finger needles” tucked away for this knitting craft. Instead, you’ll use your arms! Everything mermaid is trendy these days, and I can think of many young kids that would love something cozy like this to snuggle up in!
Target had a line of throw pillows like this available not too long ago, and I wish I had bought all of the designs that they had! Instead, I’ll have to settle with these trimmed pillows from Flax and Twine. You will need to sew just a bit, but it’s nothing too crazy!
Finger-knit snakes make perfect dog or cat toys! Of course, leave off the small plastic eyes if making it for an animal.
Last, but certainly not least, you can knit yourself a stylish statement necklace with just your hands!
