I’m always looking for handy home repair hacks that will help me take care of the little issues throughout my home, without making me dish out money to a home repair man! Fortunately for all of us, I’ve rounded up a few of the handiest home repair hacks, ever. You’ll never have to call a plumber again! Well, hopefully…
#1: Remove Wood Scratches
Remove light scratches on wood furniture by rubbing the “meat” of a walnut across the scratch. Via Sea Life Style.
#2 Remove Stripped Screws
It’s a major pain to realize you have a stripped screw that is now almost impossible to remove. Fortunately, A rubber band will help you easily remove the screw. The rubber band fills the screw and gives the screw driver something to grab onto. Via Apartment Therapy.
#3: Repair Scratched Leather
Scratched leather can be a real bummer, and so expensive to repair. For light scratches, rub olive oil directly into the scratch. Let this dry out for an hour, and then wipe it clean with a paper towel or damp cloth. You’ll be amazed at the results! Via Mash Up Chic.
#4: Fix A Broken Toilet
To keep your bathroom functional until you can replace the handle…use zip ties and tape to create a fake “handle” that flushes and everything! Via Imgur.
#5: Remove Marker Easily
Did your kids get ahold of the markers or crayons? Never fear, you won’t have to spend hours removing their “artwork” from the walls. Spray WD-40 onto a cloth rag and watch the stain virtually melt away. Via Think Hom

I have pretty long hair, and so do all of my daughters. My husband has to unclog many a shower drain or sink! Instead of breaking out the plumbing tools, unclog your drain with only a zip-tie. You read that right!
#8: Remove A Broken Light Bulb

#9: Stop Slamming Doors

#10: Stop Squeaky Doors
The door to our master bedroom is notorious for squeaking, but I can NEVER remember to grab W-40 while at the grocery store. But now I don’t even need to because vaseline will do exactly the same thing! Via Instructables.
#11: Prevent Floor Scratches
Prevent floor scratches by gluing cut up wine corks to the bottom of your chair legs. This tip will keep your flooring looking incredible at all times. Via Martha Stewart.
#12: Remove Flooring Dents
Use an iron on medium height, and a wet cloth to remove dents from wood flooring. Depending on the size of the dent, it would take up to 15 minutes of heavy ironing. Via Youtube.
