11 Holiday-Themed Popsicle Stick Crafts

December 5, 2017 by Brittney Jacobson Leave a Comment

My cute kids love to craft whenever they have the time, and Mom has the patience when it comes to supervision. I was at Michaels the other day, and they had a stellar deal on popsicle sticks for crafting, and I had to pick up a package or two! Ever since I came home with them, my kids have been dying to make all kinds of crafts. Here are a few of our favorite craft ideas, and they’re all perfect for the holiday season!

I used to make a handmade ornament every Christmas as a kid. It’s been fun to hang them on the tree as I’ve grown older. My kids and I have carried on the tradition, and this year, we plan on making popsicle stick character ornaments! Happy Hooligans has the complete tutorial, and you may not even need to supervise!

Don’t miss out on this DIY solider popsicle stick ornament from Remodelando La Casa. These remind me of tiny nutcrackers! Use craft paint, or magic marker to draw on the uniform details.

Do you want to build a snowman..out of popsicle sticks? I know several frozen fans who would! Via Craftionary.

This DIY santa hat is the perfect Christmas craft for toddlers or small preschoolers. Craft glue, magic marker, and cotton balls make this craft from Buggy and Buddy come to life.

After your kids make their sleds, give them some craft glue and have them plan out their perfect design! I always love to see what kind of thing my kids come up with. Tutorial from Shore Girls Creations.

Alright, I may have to go back to Michaels for a package or two of LARGER popsicle sticks. These jumbo snowflakes would be just the craft for my Girls Night Out next week. You can leave the hot glue at home…Elmer’s Craft Glue does just fine! Idea from UnsophistiCOOK.

I’ve seen these cute Christmas trees from One Little Project floating around Pinterest since Halloween, and I’ve been dying to make them with my kids! Pick up tiny jewels for ornaments the next time you’re at the craft store!

I like to call these the “kids version” of the gigantic snowflakes from a few slides ago. You’ll use normal sized sticks for these, which will make it easy for little fingers to glue these together. Via Pinterest.

You may need to help your kids get these started, but after they’ve glued their star together, let your kids go to town with yarn! Pick up multiple colors and have your kids weave your yarn around the sticks. You’ve got to start them knitting early, and this is the prefect thing! 😉 More at Frugal Fun 4 Boys.

Forget about making your gingerbread houses out of candy this Christmas season! Make one out of popsicle sticks instead! Scraps of fabric and yarn will give your house the appearance of real candy, but at a much cheaper cost. Check it out at Books and Giggles.

Make it a craft night and watch Rudolf with your kids while making these adorable ornaments. Pipe cleaners make the antlers, and you can hang it on your Christmas tree with a little string of twine.
