Planning a trip to the Down Under? Can I join? I’m only kidding but there really is something so magical about an Australian vacation, minus the huge bugs, of course! But if there’s one thing I know all too well it’s that there are tons of beautiful things to do in Australia, so it can be hard to narrow down your itinerary! Whatever you decide to do down under, add these beaches to your must-see list. You’ll be so glad that you did, I guarantee it!
Beaches You Will Want To Discover Down Under
Bondi Beach
There’s a reason why Bondi Beach was named one of the most beautiful beaches in the entire world. Put shortly, Bondi Beach is truly where Australia’s “beach culture” was born. In fact, the modern day bikini was literally born (and protested for!) on this beach. Stopping here is a MUST.
Lizard Island
I know, I know, the name is a bit off-putting, but I promise this beach isn’t covered with creepy reptiles! Located in North QLD, Lizard Island is known for its beautiful and expansive white beaches. There are as many as 23 beaches to choose from on this private resort island, and you’ll have the best pick of them all if you choose to stay at one of the private resorts located on Lizard Island.
Wineglass Bay
You may have to drive a few hours to access this gorgeous beach, but the drive is one that is absolutely worth it. Pink granite cliffs surround the white sand beach as bright turquoise waters lap the shores. Adventurers can even head out on a one-hour hike to see what the beach looks like from the lookout point above.
Whitehaven Beach
Voted the most beautiful beach in all of Australia (by the locals, mind you!) Whitehaven beach is in a league of its own. Not only is the water crystal clear and totally beautiful, but you’ll find some of the finest sand in the entire world on this beach. Seriously! The sand is so fine that it is literally soft to the touch! Incredible, right?
Cable Beach
Cable Beach is one of the more unique beaches on this list because it sits on the Indian Ocean, rather than the Pacific. Head to this stunning beach (located in Western Australia) for a truly magical sunset. Seriously, this beach is actually one of the top spots for photographers looking to catch a beautiful sunset in real time.
