Must Visit Places In The US During The Spring

Sometimes, when you’re itching to travel, it’s best to see what there is to see in your own backyard! And though I live on the East Coast of the United States, I would say that the whole country is my backyard. And no matter what side of the US you decide you explore with your family, you’re sure to have a beautiful trip. Add these must-visit places in the US to your sand bucket list! You’ll be glad you did.

My family spent Christmas on Maui last year and it was one of the most unforgettable experiences. There’s nothing like coming home in the middle of winter with an admirable tan. While here, rent a car and drive the Road to Hana (its a long, windy road through some of the most gorgeous scenery that you could ever imagine!) right through the jungle. It’s best to start early, though, as this drive takes several hours to complete. Stop by Mama’s Fish House in Paia on the way back for some of the best crab cakes you’ll ever eat. We stayed on the Lahania side of the island and had days upon days of gorgeous weather. There’s also a port in the area, and tourists can rent spots on snorkeling boats. We went to the nearby island of Kauai (its private) for our trip.

While Lake Tahoe might not sport the kind of ocean beach you’re used to, this freshwater destination is surely one that you won’t forget. Perfect for skiing in the winter and lounging around the clear lake water in the Summer, this has become one of the hottest destinations in all of California. We spent hours playing in the water and then would walk up Main Street to explore the town after we had worn ourselves out in the sun. Check out one of the local fishing charters, you may just catch your dinner!

Traveling to Key West is like traveling back in time! It’s easy to feel like a pirate! Not only are there miles upon miles of white sandy beaches, turquoise waters, and tons of trails to hike, but there is ample history scattered across these small islands. While here, visit some of the old cemeteries, buildings, and even museums to get an idea of what life was really like in the late 1800s. Check out Duval Street for some of the best restaurants and bars in the region. It’s best to plan your trip during the late summer months, for when hurricane season arrives, the Keys often have to rebuild their beaches.

If you’ve never been to Miami, you have to make it a point to go at least once! Grab some tasty food in Havana before dancing the night away in one of Miami’s favorite clubs. But don’t worry, there are some other things to do besides clubbing! Miami has a fascinating history so there are plenty of museums and other areas to explore and learn more about the area. Miami is definitely one of my favorite places in the US.
