I love the look of driftwood in home decor. It provides a lovely bit of texture and adds a great rustic appeal to just about any space. And the best part is, there are a wide variety of projects that you can create with just driftwood! So stop what you are doing and head off to your local beach in search of an epic piece of driftwood for one of these DIY driftwood projects.
DIY Driftwood Projects: Wall Hangings
Pick up a large piece of driftwood from the beach or your local craft store. Use a saw to cut it to your desired size and hang it up on your wall. Once hung, use it as an Air Plant display.
Using sea shells, twine, and a large piece of driftwood, you can create a beautiful wall hanging. Use the piece of driftwood as the anchor piece and use the twine to wrap and hang the seashells from the wood. Isn’t this pretty?
DIY Driftwood Projects: Porches
Looking for cute DIY driftwood project ideas for the fourth of July? Make your own garland out of driftwood pieces hot glued into star shapes. However, hot gluing the pieces of wood into star shapes does take a lot of time and effort. For an easier project, just drill a hole through the driftwood pieces and string your garland string through.
Why not make your own wreath out of cut pieces of driftwood? To make your own, simply cut each piece of wood to the same size. Once cut, string them on a wire wreath form to create an absolutely stunning driftwood wreath. I love the look of this!
DIY Driftwood Projects: Dream Catchers
This is one of my favorite DIY driftwood project ideas mostly because it helps keep the vibes around your home good! Though this looks different than your standard dream catcher, it works just the same. To create, tie pieces of twine to the ends of a piece of driftwood. Tie them together up top so it has somewhere to hang and enjoy the look of it.
If you’re looking for something a little more classic, I like the idea of this DIY dream catcher. Tie small pieces of driftwood to the bottom of some twine and then tie those onto a larger piece of wood. The movement of the driftwood in the wind is going to be so relaxing!
