My cute kiddos have been oh-so enthusiastic about painted rocks lately. And I’ve gotta say…I understand the appeal! Painting rocks is great because you can pretty much find a suitable rock..well..anywhere. If you have some washable paint on your hands (I like Crayola) you can whip up a fun craft in no time at all. Here’s a list of all the things to do with your painted rock crafts!
Turn a painted rock into the shell of a paper snail! Your kids will love to personalize their own sluggish snails! Craft from Kid Craft Room.
You won’t need any materials other than paint and a rock for this craft project! Let your kids find their inner Piccasso and you might find that you have an extra paperweight or two. 😉 Craft from Twitchettes.
I used to love to make handmade jewelry as a kid, and I’m kind of stoked that my kiddos share the same love! You may have to guide them through this painted rock craft project, but they’ll have the most unique jewelry in the school yard. Heck, I’d even like one of these myself! Craft from Red Ted Art.
Do you love fairytales? Bring the magic of your favorite fairy tale to life by painting them on rocks! Stick these on a window sill for an instant “whimsy” effect. Craft from The Craft Train.
Give your kids a dose of real abstract art by having them create their own; on a rock! Bring these to the beach for a fantastic towel weight that is sure to be recognized from anywhere! Craft from Art Crafty Kids.
Bring the outdoors inside by using your yard leaves as a stamp! These could be used as a vase or terrarium filler, and I think that they would look beautiful! Use this opportunity to teach your kids (or students!) about the different kinds of trees and leaves. Craft from The Pinterested Parent.
Take the term “pet rock” literally with this craft project! You will need yarn, a few pieces of felt, and googly eyes to complete your child’s next favorite pet, but you can find all of the above at Michael’s! Craft from I Heart Crafty Things.
These painted rock fish crafts are as fun to make as they are to look at! Place in a bowl of blue marbles to create a rock fish pond. I think that this would be another cute “pet rock” idea! Craft from Make It Your Own.
A little bit of a cuter alternative to the previous craft idea, I know that my kids would have a blast making these their own! Give them “fins” with smaller rocks or pieces of cardstock. Wouldn’t an aquarium scene look darling on your fridge? Craft from Hello, Wonderful.
Teach your kiddos about the animals on the farm with this fun craft project! If your artistic skills aren’t quite up to “farm-level” par you can use stickers instead. What does the horse say? Craft from Your Clever Monkey.
