I had always wanted to go on a safari, so when my husband surprised me with a trip to Kenya a few years ago, I was beyond excited. Not only did we get to see tons of wildlife in their natural habitats, but we got to enjoy the beach as well. It was an unforgettable vacation and I can’t wait to go again. I’ve heard from many people that Mozambique safaris are truly unique because it’s considered “off the beaten track” but there’s plenty of big game wildlife. With tons of big game like giraffes, cheetahs, and elephants, every member of your family is sure to come away with an epic photograph. I’ve never been to South Africa but I’ve always dreamed about making the journey. South Africa is an incredible beach AND safari destination because the country spans the tip of the African continent. Head to the eastern cape for tons of malaria-free safari adventure and plenty of beautiful beaches. Head to the province of KwaZulu-Natal for plenty of big-game fun and even more sandy beaches. Some of the beaches in this region are located right next to big game wildlife reserves, so what could be better than a vacation spent in this neck of the woods?

Because I have been here, I can’t overstate how amazing this vacation to Kenya was. With miles of gorgeous coastline and plenty of safari opportunities inland, this destination is the perfect fit for any adventure seeker. Personally, I didn’t even want to return home! Head to Lamu for tons of wildlife and a relaxed atmosphere that you’ll be dying to return to.
