No matter how prepared I go, I always end up feeling exhausted and totally drained after a day at the beach. It doesn’t matter how much water I drink, or how much sunscreen I slather on, a good nap always sounds perfect at the end of a beach day. But just the other day I realized that while I was doing (mostly) everything I could to protect myself from the sun’s rays, I was always forgetting to wear a hat! Ah! I wonder if that could solve my problem? So, I did it. I brought my Panama straw hat along the next time I went to the beach, and guess what? It really was life-changing. Here’s why you should wear a Panama straw hat the next time you go out:
Sun Smart Tips: Panama Straw Hat
Thanks to its wide brim, a Panama straw hat really does wonders at protecting your face and nose from the sun’s harsh rays. And since bright light is always reflected from the water at the beach, adding even a hat can go a long way when it comes to protecting you from the sun. Of course, just make sure that you are applying sunscreen in conjunction with wearing your sun hat. Pair the hat with some sunglasses to complete the look and really keep you cool. This is definitely one sun-smart tip you should always remember!
It’s true! Head to just about any tropical vacation destination and you’re bound to see several of your pool mates with something similar on top of their heads. But don’t worry, there are plenty of different kinds of Panama straw hats available. So you should be able to find one that is unique enough for you. Target always has a good selection of beach hats in the summer months, and World Market occasionally gets some as well, so keep an eye out for any new shipments! These hats do go fast! Additionally, you could even buy a plain Panama Straw hat and accessorize it with the ribbon of your choosing. After all, why not?
Unlike traditional baseball caps made from hot and heavy materials like cotton, Panama hats are made out of straw. Since they’re made from this type of material, the occasional wind can blow right through, cooling off your hair and scalp so you aren’t stuck with a sweaty hat on your head. Trust me, once you wear a Panama hat for the first time, you won’t go back! This hat is a necessary part of beach fashion.
