No matter where you go, the kind of country you’re in, or the kind of beach you are on, there are always some things that you just don’t do at the beach. Because even though everyone is laughing and having a great time, there are some beach etiquette rules that one must follow. Here’s a list of the things you should never do on a beach. Make sure you read this before your next vacation, you’ll save yourself a lot of potential embarrassment!
Things You Should Never Do On A Beach
Always Pick Up After Yourself
Littering is never cool. Ever. Especially so on the beach where so many wildlife could be harmed due to eating plastic or other garbage. Bring a bag with you for your garbage, and make it a point to pick up any kind of garbage you see laying around before you pack up and head out for the day. Something as simple as this can keep our beaches beautiful for years to come.
Keep The Music Down
Listening to Taylor Swift on repeat probably isn’t everyone’s idea of a relaxing beach day, so keep your portable speakers low so that only your group can hear it. And if you and your group of friends are planning to get loud, later on, it’s best to pick a spot away from the crowds. You’ll be doing everyone a favor, and you’ll get to have more fun away from everyone.
Stick To Simple Picnic Food
Yes, beach picnics are one of the finer things in life, but just because you can bring an elaborate cheese platter to the beach, doesn’t mean that you should. Not only will the cheese spoil quickly, but it can attract a whole host of bugs and other pests. Keep beach picnics simple, you’ll be glad that you did! And if you really get hungry, there’s likely a boardwalk close by with a restaurant or two.
Don’t Throw Sand
Just don’t. Those particles are dangerous in your eye and they can stick to EVERYTHING. So instead of entertaining yourself and your kids by throwing sand, come to the beach with a sports ball or a fun game. But as always, don’t be obnoxious with whatever it is that you are bringing.
Fill In The Holes
If you or your kids have been digging in the sand, make sure that you refill the holes before leaving. This will prevent others from falling into the hole and becoming injured. Because that would really ruin a fun day at the beach!
