If you love to travel and have always dreamed of heading to Sydney, Australia, I highly recommend adding Bondi Beach to your list! This gorgeous stretch of coast is known as a famous landmark, so it’s easy to spend days in this location. Keep reading below for a list of travel tips and my favorite things to do in Bondi Beach.
Travel Australia: Bondi Beach
Travel Tips
There are festivals on this beach often. If crowds aren’t really your thing and you would rather explore in peace, I recommend planning your trip around these festivals and events.
If shopping is your thing, you can score seriously well-priced designer goods such as Rag & Bone and Alexander Wang. Head to Gould Street for these dainty boutiques and more incredible shopping.
If you are traveling to Sydney, it is also important to note that Bondi Beach is the closest beach to the center of the city. If you are looking for something more remote, I recommend heading to Milk Beach instead.
Don’t forget your towel, sunglasses, or sunscreen! As is with any vacation destination, you can find stores selling all three of these things along the waterfront, but they are a bit more pricey. No one wants to spend big bucks on sunscreen when you can get it much cheaper somewhere else.
Things To Do
There is a surplus of things to do in Bondi Beach, so make sure that you give yourself enough time to see the sights that are of interest to you.
Bondi Icebergs: You’ve probably seen this famous swimming pool on many a postcard. Sitting right next to the ocean, you can enjoy a gorgeous view without having to battle the harsh current. The best part? $7 is all it costs to enter!
Bondi Markets: Head to the markets for tons of fresh produce, handcrafted wares, and other goodies made and sold by locals. I’ve always said that going to a local market is the best way to get an idea of what the local culture is really like.
Walk From Bondi to Coogee: This walk is a few miles long, taking you off Bondi Beach and to some other lesser-known beaches in the area. Plus, there are sculptures and sea art located on scenic viewpoints along the way. This area is seriously great for photography!
Go Surfing: Bondi Beach is one of the world’s best-known spots for surfing. You can take lessons or go at it alone, either way, this will be a completely unforgettable experience.
