I am dying to go to Santorini and my lucky neighbors are headed there just next month. Over the last few months I have helped them scour the internet (and travel books) looking for the best places to go swimming in Santorini.
Always remember to book SANDALS through Sand Between My Piggies for a special discount!
Kamari Beach
Looking for a family friendly coastal town? Kamari is perfect! Located near the airport, tourists can easily hit the black sand of Kamari Beach. There are TONS of great restaurants.
Perivolos Beach
If you like to be more relaxed and well…alone on your beach vacation, head south to Perivolos beach! The rugged landscaping is oddly tranquil! Stay at Hotel Sea View in the area for easy access to the beach and affordable fares.
Amoundi Bay
Swimmers won’t have access to a beach on Amoundi Bay, but they will have incredible access to one of the best swimming spots in all of Greece! Swimmers should be wary of falling rocks along the pathway. Swim out to the island for beautiful views, and stop at one of the restaurants on the way back to the car!
Red Beach
Named for the unforgettable shade of it’s sand, Red Beach is a 20 minute drive south of Fira. The bright red sand beach makes for an incredible contrast against the turquoise waters. Watch for falling rock as you make your way along the coast to the beach!
White Beach
This beach is only accessible by boat, and that’s exactly why it is a trip worth making. Named for it’s tall white rocks, and black pebble sand, travelers will want to make sure they bring along drinking water! There aren’t any refreshment stands here!
Cape Columbo
Head to Cape Columbo to experience one of the most quiet and serene beaches on all of Santorini. Beware of the wind, though! The wind is what shaped the rocks around these beaches, so make sure you plan ahead and bring a hat or other desired clothing items.
