Let’s take a bit of a break from all things DIY! Instead, I’m heading on a trip to the Bahamas, and I thought I would write an article on everything to do in the area! Of course, if any of you have ideas I would love to hear them! Comments are always welcome! Click this link for a special offer from SANDALS resorts! You’ll love your vacation destinations!
Snorkeling
What better way to see dolphins, sting rays, and other wildlife? The Bahamas are home to some of the more gorgeous reefs and bays. Head to smaller islands like New Providence and Grand Bahama for the best snorkeling sites!
Diving
Now…diving with sharks probably isn’t a super appealing activity for some, but that shouldn’t mean that you can’t go diving! You will need a scuba diving certification to go on a dive adventure, but it’s definitely worth it! Plan on seeing the James Bond Wrecks! We are planning on going and everyone keeps telling us how cool it is!
Cliff Jumping
Nassau, Bahamas is the best place for cliff diving! You’ll find 20 foot tall cliffs in some places across the country. Visit the South Andros islands if you feel like being risky, and taking a literal “leap” of faith!
Atlantis
Staying at the Atlantis resort is a few days of activities by itself! Spend afternoon after afternoon lounging around by the lazy river. And even if you are terrified of water slides, you’ve got to try this one out! The resort spans a majority of Paradise Island, so you’ll never be bored!
Beaches
Naturally, if you are going to the Bahamas you probably want to spend tons of time at the beach! There are world-renowned beaches scattered all throughout the island. Here are a few that I’ve head are especially incredible:
-Gold Rock Beach, Lucayan National Park (featured in the Pirates movies, this park is stunning. Make a few days of it!)
– Pink Sand Beach, Harbour Island
-Deals Beach , Long Island
-Sugar Beach, The Berry Islands (this one has great cliffs!)
-Surfer’s Beach, Harbour Island (obviously named for it’s waves!)
Stingray City
Stingray City is perfect for those looking for a not-so-crazy adventure. The shallow waters make it easy to stand, walk, or swim with hundreds of Stingrays. Don’t worry, I hear they’re incredibly friendly!
