Carry On With Ease With These Essential Carry On Items

April 17, 2019 by Brittney Jacobson Leave a Comment

I am ALL about things that make the whole process of travel a lot easier. Because if I’m being honest, I love to travel, but I hate to fly! That’s why I pack my carry on bag full of these essentials. Not only does it make my trip feel like it literally “flew” by (pun definitely intended) but it makes the whole process much more comfortable, too! Keep reading for my essential carry on items.

1 Essential Carry On Items
1.1 Water Bottle
1.2 Scarf
1.3 Charger
1.4 Sanitizing Wipes
1.5 Eye Mask
1.6 Travel Pillow
1.7 Headphones
1.7.1 Again. Pretty self explanatory. However, if you do want to watch a movie on the seat back screens, you will need to pack a pair of headphones with the classic headphone port. Bluetooth headphones will not connect to the in-flight entertainment system (and neither will the new Apple headphones) and no one wants to use those crappy complimentary headphones.

Essential Carry On Items

Water Bottle

I know, I know. The flight attendants on almost any airline do walk around with the drink cart, but it’s something that only happens a few times during your flight. Instead of depending on the flight attendants to quench your thirst, bring your own water bottle on board. Either carry an empty one through security to fill up at your gate, or purchase one at any of the airport shops. No matter what you decide to do, make sure that you bring something to drink as it’s quite easy to become dehydrated after an airplane ride. Plus, drinking regularly throughout your flight will help you look more fresh faced upon landing!

Scarf

I don’t know what it is, but airplanes have this crazy ability to get seriously chilly. Come equipped with a jacket or sweater, of course, but I like to bring a scarf along, too! They’re super fashionable and can even double as a blanket in a pinch. I like the Vinyasa scarf from Lululemon, it’s so big that it doubles PERFECTLY as a blanket.

Charger

Recently I was super excited to learn that almost all airlines have seat ports so you can charge your devices on the airplane. Say goodbye to rationing screen time! Just make sure to bring a charger on the plane. And then, of course, don’t forget to take it back off the plane, either.

Sanitizing Wipes

You know, they say they clean the seat backs and tray tables, but I’m a little wary. Bring your own sanitizing wipes on board to keep your area clean and germ free. You never know, this could save you from coming down with a gnarly case of the flu!

Eye Mask

You’ll want this. Especially if you’re on a red eye flight and your seat neighbor is insistent on leaving his overhead light on. I’ve been on a flight like this before. It wasn’t great, but the eye mask definitely helped!

Travel Pillow

Now this is just self explanatory. Airplane seats really are not all that comfortable…

Headphones

Again.

Wet Wipes

I always feel grimy and gross while on airplanes, so I like to keep wet wipes in my carry on. That way, you can wipe your face (or any other body part) off should it be necessary. It’s amazing how the littlest things like this really do make a big difference!
