Traveling is the best. You get to go to new places and learn new things, who doesn’t like that? If you’re planning a trip this year, take a look at this list of dream vacations. Where will you head first?
Dream Vacations: Maldives
If there’s one place that absolutely must be on your sand bucket list, it’s definitely the Maldives. And did you know that this gorgeous island chain is actually disappearing due to rising tides and climate changes? If you’re lucky enough to go before it vanishes completely, make sure that you go snorkeling. The Maldives is one of the most renowned locations in the world for snorkeling, so you are sure to have a blast. Stand up paddleboarding and island hopping (the Maldives have over 1200 islands in their system!) are also popular things to do.
When it comes to lodging, I highly recommend that you stay in one of the over the water bungalows. The flooring is usually plexiglass so that you can practically live with the fishes.
Dream Vacations: Bora Bora
A tiny island located west of Tahiti, the gorgeous blue waters of Bora Bora and soft sandy beaches will leave you thinking about this island for years to come. Of course, there’s plenty to do. For those of you who like to relax, indulge in one of the many resort-like spa experiences. And if that isn’t your speed, you can go on a 4×4 adventure around the island of your choice, hike up Mount Otemanu, as well as participate in a handful of other outdoor activities.
Dream Vacations: Fiji
Though I have never been to Fiji, it is on my list of places to travel somewhere in the next few years. Full of rich Polynesian history, I have heard that the Fiji museum is awesome. While you’re here, it’s also fun to take part in a Polynesian ceremony of some kind. Other things to do include hiking the Taveuni waterfall and visiting the famous Coral Coast.
Dream Vacations: Tahiti
The largest island in French Polynesia, there is plenty to do on the island of Tahiti. Papenoo Beach is one of my very favorite places in the world thanks to its crystal clear waters and coconut-tree dotted shores. There’s also a gorgeous botanical garden, Vaipahi Gardens, that will have plant lovers eager to take something back home.
Dream Vacations: Bahamas
Another one of the world’s largest island chains, the Bahamas is one of the most populated areas in the Atlantic Ocean. Located just off the coast of Florida, this place is susceptible to hurricanes, but if you time your trip right, you should be just fine. Make an effort to go shopping at the Nassau Straw Market, as well as take a historical tour through Exuma. With over 700 islands in the Bahamas to choose from, you’re bound to find a little solitude somewhere.
