1. Glue Sand Beach Hourglass

Hourglasses are perhaps the most popular DIY glue sand projects. In addition to being decorative, they also serve a practical purpose, especially on family game night.

To make a glue sand hourglass, purchase some colored decor sand from a crafts store and a medium-sized hourglass. Next, mix some differently colored sands to create a beautiful mixture. Finally, your sand into the hourglass, and voila! Your glue sand hourglass is ready.

You can then add some finishing touches to your hourglass. Glue some shells on the outside to give it a beachy vibe.

2. Glue Sand Décor Bowl

You can also use décor sand to make a glue sand décor bowl that no one will believe is made out of sand. Thankfully, with just a short list of materials, a décor bowl is straightforward to make.

Materials needed:

  • Décor Sand
  • White glue
  • Wooden spatula
  • Mixing Bowl
  • Saran Wrap

To make a décor bowl, pour out some colored décor sand into a large mixing bowl. Next, pour some white glue into the sand and use a wooden spatula to mix it all up. Importantly, once you have a smooth glue sand mixture, move on to the next step.

To continue, place another mixing bowl upside down and cover the base with saran wrap. Next, spread out your glue sand mixture over the saran wrap until it is evenly spread. After this, wait for the glue sand mixture to dry and remove the bowl from underneath. Finally, remove the saran wrap, and voila! Your glue sand décor bowl is complete.

3. Ombre Sand Terrarium

If you have some shells from your last visit to the beach, you can use these in your DIY glue sand project. Above all, the ombre sand terrarium is a great glue sand project to add some beachy beauty to your home.

To start, mix some different colored décor sands to create some vibrancy. Next, use glue to decorate the outside of your glass terrarium with shells and rope. After this, pour the décor sand into the terrarium in layers. Finally, decorate the surface of the sand with shells and seal the container. You can even use driftwood that you’ve found on the beach.

4. Vacation Memory Jars

If you’ve ever brought home sand and shells from a seaside vacation, you aren’t alone. However, instead of hiding them away in your closet, why not make something beautiful out of them? Thankfully, a vacation memory jar is a highly personal DIY glue sand project that you can make at home.

Purchase a glass jar and write the name of your vacation spot on the front. You can glue some of the shells you brought home on the outside. Additionally, tying a thin piece of rope to the top adds a decorative vibe.

Finally, fill the jar with the sand you brought home about halfway and place some shells on the surface. Your vacation memory jar is complete. Now find a place for it where it can remind you of your beach getaway every day.

Conclusion

The 4 glue sand projects in this article are a great way to bring your love for the beach into your home. Moreover, they don’t just add décor to your home but are great conversation pieces as you can show off your craft skills to your friends and family. With little to no effort, you can make any of these glue sand projects.
