There’s nothing better than spending the holidays at the beach with your family. Not only is it a fantastic getaway if you live in a chilly area of the country but the photos will definitely make all of your friends jealous! However, if you’re headed to the beach this holiday season, you’ll want to make sure your beach of choice is family friendly. There’s nothing particularly family friendly about a nude beach! 😉 If you’re dying for some sand, sun, and sea this holiday season check out these holiday beach destinations that are sure to be the highlight of your year!
While the bars and nightclubs might not be great for families, the stunning scenery will make for a few fantastic photographs! Since the nightclub scene probably isn’t something you’ll want to do with your family members, you should check out the local art scene in the Art Deco Historic District and the shopping on Ocean Drive. If you don’t mind a few hours of travel, head to Orlando for Walt Disney World and even Harry Potter World at Universal Studios!
Galveston Island has one of the biggest beaches in Texas! Head to Galveston to enjoy miles and miles of white sandy beaches. Poretto Beach is one of my most favorite and one of the most family friendly beaches in the area. You can even get food and snacks delivered right to your beach chair from a number of restaurants in the area. For freshwater fun, head to Palm Beach inside Moody Gardens for tons of different water slides and a game of beach volleyball.
Waikiki Beach, on the island of Oahu is one of the most well-known beaches throughout all of America. Head to the beach on Friday nights for an astounding firework show and to a Luau for experience with the local culture. And, bring your board. Surf’s up!
Turks and Caicos
Dying to visit Turks and Caicos? Stay at the Parrot Cay resort! Turks and Caicos have been one of my very favorite places to visit if not one of the most beautiful. Not only do they have stunning beaches to be enjoyed by kids of all ages but they have an incredible selection of water sports like paddleboarding and snorkeling for the members of your family who may be interested. Be sure to check out the Caicos Conch Farm too, where they harvest the biggest conch shells around! This is one of my favorite holiday beach destinations!
Take your family to Havana Cuba for an unbeatable dose of history. Admire the pastel colors throughout the streets and be sure to teach the young members of your family about the elaborate history and embargos the United States have had with Cuba over the last few years. Additionally, FYI WiFi and cellular service haven’t quite made it to all areas of the city yet.
