DIY bath bombs are seriously luxurious. I could spend hours in LUSH picking out my favorite varities of bath bombs! Unfortunately, LUSH can be extremely expensive if you aren’t lucky enough to catch one of their infamous sales. Instead of spending your entire food budget on beauty supplies (trust me, been there, done that) I’ll show you how you can make them yourself! DIY bathbombs are a great project for a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Get your kids involved, because these are fun for all! Tutorial for these 10 minute bathbombs goes to Happiness is Homemade. Check out her site if you need any other tips, tricks, or DIY beauty products!

Here’s What You’ll Need:

1/2 cup Citric Acid

1 cup Baking Soda

2 tbsp Shea Butter, melted

Essential Oils (Over at Happiness is Homemade, she used 10 drops of Grapefruit and Citrus Fresh)

Bath Color Tablets (optional), crushed

Spray bottle with a small amount of water

Mix together the citric acid and the baking soda while melting the shea butter in the microwave (be carefult that it doesn’t get too warm!) Once melted, add the shea butter to the dry mixture of citric acid and baking soda. Adding the 10 drops of essential oils once stirred together correctly. Next, you’ll stir in the colored bath tablets. At this point, you may find that the mixture is too dry to form together into “bombs.” Mist the mixture with a spray bottle full of water to make it a little easier to work with. It’s important to just mist the mixture, because water sets off the fizzing reaction. Once misted, pack the bath bomb mixture tightly into a muffin tin. Leave out to dry overnight before using! Enjoy! TIP: Add dried flower petals to the mixture for a spa like atmosphere!
