Attention all beach goers! Summer beach season is just around the corner, and you know what that means! Salty toes, sandy cheeks, and a really really nice tan! Well, hopefully anyway! If you love to visit the beach, chances are you’ve definitely been sunburned a time or two! Anyone who has dealt with a deep purple sunburn (seriously, been there, done that!) knows how uncomfortable and straight up AWFUL it is to deal with! Never fear the purple burn again! Here’s a great recipe to keep you totally tan, and totally burn free. And the best part? There are no harsh chemicals!

Here’s What You’ll Need:

1 oz beeswax pellets

4 oz of  non-toxic lotion

.8 oz zinc oxide for about 20 SPF (more zinc oxide equals higher SPF ability)

12 drops carrot seed oil ( ¼ tsp)

If you want to add a bit of natural tanner, add a few teaspoons of cocoa powder.

Melt your beeswax in a double broiler (this can be created by placing a glass mason jar inside of a pot filled with water. Put the beeswax in the mason jar). Once melted, remove the beeswax from the heat and let it cool. Next, add the 4 ounces of lotion and the .8 ounces of zin oxide (round up to 1 ounce if you need a little bit more protection). Add any essential oils for smell, or any other ingredients such as cocoa powder! Pour your sunscreen into little glass mason jars for easy clean up and storage!
