What’s In YOUR Beach Bag?

July 3, 2019 by Brittney Jacobson Leave a Comment

If there’s one thing that I know with absolute certainty, its that it is nearly impossible to have a good day at the beach without a beach bag full of your necessities in tow. Seriously, one day I forgot to bring along chapstick with an SPF and I deeply regretted it! If you’re planning a trip to the beach, make sure these items are in your beach bag for a day of fun. These are must-have beach bag items, just take it from someone who knows it well!

Must Have Items For Your Beach Bag

Sunscreen
I know, I know this goes without saying but there are many people who often forget this summertime staple! Always always make sure that you have a tube of sunscreen with you on any beach outing and that you apply it regularly throughout the day. And since we are talking about it, throw in a chapstick with an SPF element as well. Your lips will thank you. Trust me.
A Book/ Headphones
While it’s nice to spend a day at the beach admiring the ocean surf or slyly people watching, stick a pair of headphones and a book in your beach bag as well. Pick a fun, light-hearted read to bring to the beach and get lost in the story while you work on your tan. One of my favorite reads so far this summer was “Where The Crawdads Sing.” It’s the best beach read!
A Towel
Of course, your whole beach trip is going to be pretty awful if you don’t have a towel to lounge on. Additionally, I like to take a separate towel to dry off with. That way, I don’t have to lay on a towel that is both wet and sandy! Not a great combination, am I right? Fortunately, if you forgot your beach towel, there are plenty of places along the beach that sell extra sets.

Portable Battery Pack
Spending a day in the sun can really drain your cellphone batteries, so make sure that you have a backup plan in place just in case. I like to carry around one of these portable battery packs with me when I spend time at the beach. It makes it easy to give my phone the extra juice needed to take that epic photograph.
Water/ Snacks
Stock up on water and snacks like sandwiches, fruit, or mini applesauce. If your beach allows it, and if desired by you, bring an alcoholic beverage or two, as well. No matter what you end up bringing along to munch on, make sure that you’re drinking enough water to hydrate your body throughout the say.
Sunglasses/ Hat

Doesn’t it seem like the sun is always a few degrees brighter at the beach? It’s likely because the light reflects so easily off of the bright sand and water. Just as you protect your body from sunburn, protect your eyes from the same thing with a pair of polarized lenses. Bring along a hat just in case, too!
